From November 3 to 5, Hall 3 at Fira Barcelona – Gran Vía hosted the latest edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit (BDTS), where the X4HPC network participated through various activities.

The event began on Tuesday, November 3, with the network hosting a booth in collaboration with the “The Collider” program -an initiative of Mobile World Capital Barcelona- and the R&D&I networks. That same Tuesday, the first edition of the XTech Challenge took place -an innovation competition driven by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia. The winning project was Rapid-AIM, an initiative led by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) that is part of the X4HPC network. BSC researcher Uma Trehan led the project team, delivering an excellent presentation that secured the majority of the audience’s votes. Rapid-AIM is an AI-based technology capable of detecting patterns associated with myocardial infarctions, with the goal of facilitating early diagnosis.

In addition to the X4HPC booth, the network’s spin-offs also had the opportunity to participate; member spin-offs Galtea and OneCareAI each held a stand throughout the three-day summit. Furthermore, OneCareAI was a participant in the Tech Impact Awards -organized by BSC Connects and Projecte Aina, in collaboration with X4HPC.

The Tech Impact Awards took place on Thursday, November 5, and showed strong participation, with companies presenting challenges to be solved and various start-ups and projects offering potential solutions. OneCareAI, a spin-off from the network, took second place.

The presence of X4HPC at events such as the BDTS helps to expand the network’s reach among start-ups and companies, while also fostering synergies and connections across the entire deep tech ecosystem.
